The Story of Suck Creek Wings

John and Dave have always shared a passion for all things spicy, especially Buffalo style chicken wings. Their love of wings and desire to create a sauce that was both full of flavor and heat led them to the kitchen, where they spent many hours perfecting their craft. The result of those long hours is an award-winning wing sauce, recently voted Chattanooga's best, which delivers the perfect combination of flavor and spice.

John always found himself around wing connoisseurs who had been concocting their own sauces and styles for many years. When he moved to Chattanooga in high school, he began to make his own sauces and tried them out on friends and family and they quickly became the reason for many a gathering. Cooking and hot sauce was a hobby and passion that would ultimately lead to the creation of Suck Creek Wings.

Dave took the opposite approach from John. He made it his goal to try the wings at every restaurant he went to. He even kept a journal where he wrote a review of all the wings he tried comparing flavor, heat, and all of the other things that make great wings. During this research, he noticed a major trend throughout the southeast that made him long for something more. He noticed that restaurants either focused on flavor or heat, but not both. Some wings had a great flavor but virtually no heat. Others were like eating a lit book of matches. Plenty of heat, but just awful flavor.

Several years ago, John and Dave were introduced by a mutual friend. With their love of wings and spicy foods, it was only a matter of time before they came together to create something special. They decided that there was no reason why a sauce couldn't be created that brought together the best of both worlds. An intense heat that would satisfy the saltiest of chile fans and a flavor that would match the heat. The perfect opportunity to make it happen came to them when they entered a wing cook-off in Chattanooga that would pit them against local and regional restaurants. They walked away from the contest with the first place trophy held high over their heads. They had created a sauce that the stingiest of wings connoisseur couldn't try without wanting more.
